Before We Got Wed – Anniversary Post

I’ve recently discovered a mommyblog that I like and am stalking her site now. Going back through her old entries, I stumbled upon this post. Sakto for today since it’s our anniversary (well, that was last Friday – April 25, As usual late posting).. Yes, 5 years and counting. 🙂

Anyways, Jhanis joined a 7-days blog challenge and I’ll go with her by putting them altogether in 1 post. 🙂  So here goes..

before-we-wed1. Share the first picture taken of you and its story.

  1. Nov. 2002 He still have hair then..

I really can’t remember our first photo together but here’s one from 2002.  This was taken after their adventure race (yes, he’s adventurous), thus a sleeping Dino.  Being his ever supportive girlfriend and number one cheerleader, I cannot miss this event.  I remember telling my brother a made up work related event just so I can be there. Hope my brother is not reading this now, but I think he had ideas of my white lies before.  In fairness to me, I never lied about my whereabouts.  I always tell the truth where I am, just in case (knock on wood 3x) something went wrong.  AND, my sis-in-law always knows the real reasons – I think he knows this too.. hehe.. Super defensive ba?! hehe

2. Share a story of the first homemade meal.    I’ve been part of the de Leon’s household for so long that my weekend meals are always spent with them.  I remember Dino and I prepared veggie pizza (something we learned from our trip to Batad) for dinner one time and everyone liked it.  Once, we planned to do this again, but forgot to buy the pizza crust, we ended up tweaking it and we had vegetable curry instead.

I can’t remember what we had during our first meal as husband and wife.  But there were a few times where he was the one who cooked our Saturday night meals.  I still have Saturday work then and would not get home until 7:30.  His first dish was Adobong Manok and it was really good (he still brags about it until now).  I asked him the other day about it and he complained that it’s not only adobo that he cooked, his Chicken curry is also very good and I have to agree. 🙂

  1. This is not his chicken curry, this is the best curry we had though.. :) We had in Koh Samui..
This is not his chicken curry, this is the best curry we had though.. :).

Trivia, Dino never had any experience in their kitchen when he was still a bachelor (that’s daddy’s – my inlaw’s turf) and I don’t consider mountain cooking as cooking. hehe.. I bet he’ll be a better cook than me, if he just have patience for it. 🙂

3. Share your favorite present received before marriage.    Am very easy to please that even a bag of chocolate sends me chills all over.  I also love receiving flowers from Dino but this stopped when we realize that if we add a little more to the cost of those bouquets, we can dine in fine dining restaurants already.  So when he came to my office with a bouquet, V-day of 2008, I was super kilig. (Didn’t I tell you am easy to please?)

There’s another thing I learned from Dino that I would say I appreciate the most.  It’s the love of nature and outdoor.  It was with him that I experience travelling – leisure and hardcore.  My first ever climb was in Tarak ridge (Mariveles).  Dino said that this is a beginner’s climb, but everybody said that it’s not.  Ang saya diba?! I did not regret going though. I also have this bad habit of promising myself not to join them, next time they invite me for another “beginner’s climb” but always ended up climbing with them.  hehe..

  1. Rapelling in Batangas, I was so scared of letting go. Dino always push me try stuffs. He's right, I loved it.. :)
Rapelling in Batangas, I was so scared of letting go. Dino always pushes me to try stuffs. He’s right, I loved it.. 🙂

4. Share the moment you knew he was the one.    Those times when all his flaws does’t seem to matter anymore. Hep hep hep… Before you get all carried away, am not a saint, I still get pissed off irritated with it at times. (until now? Yes!) Since I’ve learned to accept them, I can easily shrug it off. If I do mention it to him, more often than not, he’ll make fun and laugh at it doubling my irritation. Arrgh!!! So better best option is to just shake it off!! Hehe.

Those times when you are fighting and you’re in the ‘don’t talk to me’ mode, then you remembered something and you talk to him without remembering that you’re in the ‘don’t talk to me’ mode. Then both acting as if nothing happened. (this often happen in less than 30 mins)
And that time when he showed me respect. Not pushing me to do the thing am / we’re not ready to do. I knew then that this man is worth keeping. 🙂

5. Share the first song he dedicated to you.    Fallen by Lauren Wood.  He sang this over the phone when he was still pursuing me.  (kilig much)

6. Share your family’s first impression of him.    Among the guys I dated, it was only Dino that I did not hear any negative reaction from my brothers.  (I think this is another sign to #4).

My relatives was a different story.  I came from a Chinese family that is a bit traditional.  When they learned that am dating a Filipino guy, my aunts and uncles became instant match makers.  Well, they didn’t know Dino personally then.  When I brought Dino to his first Hao family reunion experience (he was amazed, I guess, if that’s the right term) and all the match making came to a stop. It came to a point that they want Dino present in reunions even if am not available.  Do they like him?  Be the judge! 🙂

7. Share with us a typical date.    A typical date of our un-wedded version would always include eating and lots of eating.  We love street foods especially.  One of our most memorable date was our 120 peso date.  We had Shawarma Rice, Pao Tsin Rice with toppings (forgot which we got, but am guessing it’s the fried shark’s fin dumpling, it’s Dino’s fave) and 2 glasses of gulaman at SM Manila food court then before bringing me home, we stopped by Ate’s kiosk nearby to eat Fish balls, fried tofu and hotdogs.  We are happy that way. 🙂

Dear Juvs ver. 2009,
Try to discourage buying Pajeyow if you can.. hehe..
Anyway, you made the right choice in marrying him… Stay happy.. 🙂

To my Bobe, Happy anniversary!! Looking forward to more adventures with you.  Love you. 🙂

There you go, I hope you enjoyed this entry as much as I enjoyed writing it.  Jhanis is right in saying, it’s nice reminiscing those times.. 🙂

Liam’s 3rd Birthday at The Ranch Toledo

Happy new year to all!! I have a lot of things to posts but too little time. One at a time, I’ll get there too. 🙂 To lessen my blog lags, here’s the last installment on Liam’s 3rd party.  I really thought I’ve posted about this already, kow! Am really getting old!! Anyway, better late than never.

As mentioned in my party prep post, we decided to have an intimate out of town party this year.  We drove all the way to Toledo and checked ourselves in at The Ranch.  Aside from the pool, they also have an aviary, botanical garden and a ranch where you can try horse back rising.  I was super excited about this but we were not able to try any of it. Hehehe

We left the city a little after lunch, we thought it would only be 1.5 hrs drive as what Dino have read online but traffic was heavy at the reclamation area that day and we ended up driving for 2.5 hrs.  We arrived around 5pm and the other facilities were already closed.  So we just hit the pool before dinner. Since it was Dino who drove, he did not swim with us that night.  Nanuod at nag picture na lang sya.

Dinner was so so.  But at least they are not over priced.  We weren’t able to go out anymore for dinner as next establishment near the resort is 20mins away and jollibee lang din ata ang meron. Hehe… After dinner, it was Liam’s favorite part na – candle blowing.  I ordered his cake from Angelica’s – same as last year’s (see post here).

The cake was ok naman except for the fact that they forgot to put “mommy” on the dedication. Anak ng patola! Am the one who ordered and this is my only share, wala pa ako sa ‘love,’ part ng dedication!  After I pointed it out, the attendant quickly saud that she’ll add the word mommy, I said ok and showed her where to put it.  I clearly said to put “mommy &” before the word daddy.  Here’s what she did….

One thing that’s not so ok in The Ranch was that their accommodation doesn’t come with free breakfast.  We still had breakfast there para hassle free lang then we hit the pool again. Since Mr. Sun was really instense that day, Dino did not allow us to go to the aviary and horse ranch anymore.  We all settled down in Lolo and Lola’s room until it’s time for us to check out.

We had lunch at Sumibi Yakiniku Tajimaya at the Crossroads on our way back to the city.  It is a Japanese shabu shabu restaurant that Dino and I love and now the whole family loves it too.  Liam even told us one time that he wants to eat there again.  He said he wants to eat sa cook cook.  hehehe  Dino and I were not able to take pics (again), I’ll just update this post once I get photos from my SIL, Leah.

Overall, it was a great celebration. My son was uber happy with the trip and the ice cream party his Ninang Tita prepared for him.  This made me realize that a party need not be super bongacious, what’s important is that everybody (especially the celebrant) is happy.  That’s all that matters. 🙂

Kumati (Makati) Trip

Ever since the hubs handled Columbia Sportswear brand, he goes to the US for sales meeting twice a year.  One of which always falls on my birthday.  2010 was an exception (not the meeting date, but Dino did not attend since I just gave birth to Liam then.  This year, Dino was able to fix his schedule so he can fly back to Manila night of my special day.  At least for 2 hrs he will be able to celebrate it with me.  Unfortunately, his flight was delayed and he was home few hours after midnight.  Talk about irony.

Day before our trip, knowing that we’ll be out of town for my birthday, our Cebu staffs sent me a cake for my birthday.  To Liam delight.. 🙂 As usual, my little helped blow the candle and he helped himself with a slice. 🙂  Ever since we came here to Cebu, our staffs never failed to make our day more special. I feel loved. 🙂

Morning of our flight, we decided to bake Calamansi cupcakes and Carrot cupcakes as pasalubong.  I was so organized then, preparing one after the other.  That’s why when the oven decided to break down on me, both recipes were half baked. GRRR!!!  Anywya, Liam had fun doing it naman.  Will just bake some more for Christmas. 🙂

Liam, Donna and I flew to Manila 31st of October for my MIL’s birthday.  We were picked up by Lolo and Lola and dinner was waiting for us at home.  My SIL, Leah, and his hubby, AJ prepared their famous Yogurt Chicken, Pesto Pasta and their luscious Chocolate Cake for Lola.  To my son’s delight, he loved the Chocolate Ganache!

Every all saint’s day, I always help my mom out with the offering and all the rituals.  But since I moved to Cebu and had Liam, I wasn’t able to this anymore.  Even now that we are in Manila, I begged off since we don’t like bringing kids to such places.  I’ll wait for Liam to grow a little more older before introducing him to that.

So what do we do on a free day. Leah and I decided to go to Ace Water Spa in Pasig.  It was really nice and fun there.  Liam loved it so much that he is still asking me if we can go back there until now. the water is warm so it’s ok to stay there for hours without worrying that the little one is getting cold na.   There are so many babies there, even saw a new born in the kiddie pool with the yaya of course.  We had a great time but not much pics since they don’t allow picture taking from time you get into the shower area until you are done.  I appreciate this policy though.  🙂

On my birthday, we only stayed home to prepare for dinner.  Liam, on the other hand, played and make himself busy.  Since we are only staying for 4 nights, the in laws decided not to take all the toys out.  This made me realize one thing, it’s true when other mommies say that imagination and creativity comes out naturally with kids when they have only few toys.

Lolo brought out the toy gun Liam got last Christmas, after playing with the gun (as a gun), it then became a horse, which later became an iron.  hehe  Liam loves (understatement) playing cars – REAL cars.  He likes the steering wheel, the gear and now he met the pedals.  Anyway, we were not able to bring any of his driving toys, so made use of the drawer handles.  He said it’s his steering wheel and he has an imaginary kambyo (gear).  Oh, by the way, there are 3 drawers on Lolo’s bed, one drawer is Hi Ace, the other is Pajeyow and the last one is Starrex.  Funny little boy. 🙂

Aw Aw and Raf Raf galloping away. See the drawer with round knob at his back!??! That's his Pajeyow.. hehehe.. :)

Before lunchtime, Ninang came down and do the stamp project with Liam, which later became their Tattoo.  At the end of the session, Liam looked like a battered child with all the purple ink on his arms and legs.  Ninang and I were not spared and have a lot of “tattoo’ on our arms as well.

That night, my in laws prepared some ‘handa’ for my birthday.  noodles, chicken and pork spring rolls.  My cousin dropped by to see Liam and of course celebrate my birthday with us. 🙂

The following day, we drove to Tagaytay and visited Leah’s friend’s farm to see the horses and the piggies. Liam just got up but he had fun seeing the plants and the animals there.  We then had lunch at The Dining Room, Gourmet Farms.  (see Leah’s post about it here).  We then visited Lola Sexy’s (Ate Caro, Leah’s officemate) house and check out her Christmas decors.

After his afternoon nap, we went to see my side of the family.  We went to Pandacan (my second brother, Jerry’s house) where my mom agreed to meet with us.  You see my mom lived in very Farview (Fairview) and she usually stays with my bro.  (hehe disclaimer agad).  He enjoyed our stay there since he have a new playmate – Kongkong (my SIL’s – Jerry’s wife – nephew).  They played from the time we stepped foot there til before we said our goodbyes.  Sayang lang, since am not very good at taking pics, wala nanaman kameng pictures.  Haist!!

Oh forgot to mention, Liam was so happy when he saw the tree being set up at Lola sexy’s home,  Dino then agreed to buy one here in Cebu.  This was already part of my plan, but was pushed back with all the happening here. But again, as my new matra goes, I refuse to live in fear, there are indeed a lot of reasons to love and life to the fullest.

All in all it was another well spent vacation in Manila. Til our next trip. 🙂

Happy 3rd Birthday Liam!

“I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright.
I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more.
I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive.
I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life appear much bigger.
I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.
I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.
I wish enough “Hello’s” to get you through the final “Goodbye.”

To our ever cute and sweet darling baby boy,

"We refuse to live in fear,
“We refuse to live in a life of fear, there are more reasons to love life.” (taken from Dino’s FB post)

First of all, I want to greet you a belated happy birthday.  As fast as the year have passed, you’ve also grown up so fast.  You’re taller, smarter, funnier, kulit-er (if there’s such a word) and more talkative than ever.

You are more confident and independent now, not shy approaching others and talking to them.  Dancing in front of a crowd or at the stage.  You know our routine na every morning when we have to go to office, never have to cry and ran after us. You are also becoming more curious by the day, that you always ask us what happened or how something happened, what a word mean and tries to use it on your own in every possible way.

I know I say you are talkative but that’s not a bad thing at all.  You always know how to express yourself.  You also have a way with your words that you can have whatever you want.  I remember your summer teacher telling me that you can be a lawyer.  You are witty and never runs out of reasons.  You are  so fast that we can’t fool you around.  You always notice it when we misused a word or said something wrong, never afraid to correct us and laugh with us and I love that about you, anak.

As I told you last year, we are going to have a lot of fighting days.  Am sure that it will be more this year.  Then again, please keep in mind that whatever fights we may have that you will never be loved less.  That if we do it, it means we love you enough to correct you.  We just have to do what must be done to discipline you and prepare you to be the man that you will proud of.

Liam, please never stop being the funny smart little charmer that you are.  Your smile and sweet hugs never fail to brighten up even the most gloomy room.  Always remember that mommy and daddy will always have your back and that whatever we do we are always thinking of you.

Happy Birthday little boy.  I wish you enough…  We love you.  🙂

Mommy

PS, we did not have that much fight naman this year. very petty and you learn fast that’s why we don’t need to fight again and again. Thank you for that anak.

Liam’s Ice Cream Party

As promised, my sis-in-law, Leah, of The Bright Spot, is my guest blogger today.  Since it was her bright idea to do an ice cream party for Liam ( not to mentioned, she also put so much effort researching for a theme, preparing the props and did not join us for dinner so she and Donna can set  up the table while we’re out).  I asked if she could be so humble to write a post here… and we’re so lucky she agreed!! yey!

Without any further ado.. Here’s her story.. 🙂

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

When Juvvy told me that she wanted an ice cream party for Liam, to be held at The Ranch Resort and Farm (or Gaite Ranch) in Toledo (because it was decided that Liam’s birthday will be spent out of town with the family, instead of holding a party here in Manila), my first consideration was: can we get ice cream inside the resort?  You see, the city of Toledo is a 2-4 hours drive (by land) from the city and that depends on the route you will take.  I have no idea how far will the first grocery be from the resort.

But anyway, we figured we would be able to find ice cream there so Juvvy and I proceeded with the planning for the party essentials to bring to the resort.  I took charge of the party props and Juvvy took care of the ice cream toppings.

We decided on a blue/green/brown color theme because I realized that most of the craft and party items I have at home are in these colors.

Also, Liam’s birthday cake (with bugs and insects as theme), is done in blue and green fondant icing!  Here’s a sneak preview of his cake:

Alas, our trip going to The Ranch took longer than we thought and we arrived there late in the afternoon already.  So we decided to postpone the ice cream party to the following day, and to have it at home instead.

The challenge now was how to keep it a secret from Liam.  We wanted to surprise him with that.

It was decided that the whole family will have dinner outside, and I will be left at home (with Ate Donna) to prepare the house for the ice cream party.

Here was Liam’s reaction when he saw his ice cream table (sorry, lousy pic hehe!):

P1130646b

The birthday boy was super happy!

Here’s the ice cream bar in cool colors of blue, green and white, with hints of brown:

P1130589b

Liam’s stuffed dog toy, Aw-Aw, was a last minute addition to the ice cream table because I can already hear Liam running towards the door, and I am not yet done putting away Liam’s toys, including Aw-Aw.  So I placed him at the table to guard the food, hihi!

There weren’t much food stuff, actually, just the ice cream toppings, some macarons and the kalamansi and carrot cupcakes that Juvvy baked earlier.  However, I made sure that everything in the table followed our color theme and are neatly arranged (para maganda sa picture, di ba? Hehe!)

P1130593b

P1130642b

The buntings were made the day before I left to Cebu.  I printed and cut the letters, and had my officemate stick them in these colored construction papers that I have on stock at home.  I used the baker’s twine I bought from Paper Chic Studio to hold the flags.

The ice cream toppings were served in plastic containers that are resealable.  Better this way para all left-overs can stored right away cos nasa plastic containers na sila.

P1130602b

You’ll noticed that I also used blue and green pens and washi tapes for the labels.  Ganyan ako ka-OC hehe!

Here’s Liam making his own ice cream ‘art’.

P1130651b

P1130655b

I asked Juvvy to buy macarons from Vanille Cafe and Patisserie (click here for my blog post on this patisserie), and specifically requested for macarons in shades of blue, green, white and brown.   So aside from ice cream, we had these heavenly macarons in peppermint, vanilla and chocolate flavors, among others, added to our dessert.

P1130616b

P1130615b

I brought with me this cupcake stand that I got from 168 Mall in one of my trips there.  Na-cute-an lang ako kaya binili ko hehe!   Super cheap, I think it’s just P200.00.  Tamang tama ang color (blue), perfect for Liam’s ice cream party.  So Juvvy baked 2 batches of cupcakes (in kalamansi and carrot flavors), which I arranged in the cupcake stand.

P1130610b

Sorry for the weird icing patterns on top of the cupcakes, I failed big time in using the ready whipped cream in spray can.

The cupcakes and the macaroons completed the ice cream bar.

P1130618b

The green paper cups and plates are also from 168 Mall in Divisoria, while the white paper cups with pastel colored lines are from Shopwise (I brought them to Cebu as ‘buffer’).

P1130626b

The paper straws are from Paper Chic Studio and because I forgot to bring the spoons and forks with me, we just used plastic ones bought from a nearby grocery.   Blue washi tape was wrapped around the plastic spoons, and green for the plastic forks.

We are pleased with how everything turned out, given the very short time in which we planned this party.

Juvvy told me that up to this day, Liam still remembers that ice cream night.  So much so that when she asked Liam if he wanted some ice cream, my smart nephew replied: “It is my birthday again?”

Liam’s happiness that night was truly priceless. Although we all forgot to take proper pictures of him when he first saw the table, that big smile on his face will be forever etched in my mind.

Belated Happy Birthday, Liam!   =)

                                                                    * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Oh yes!! it was a success!! Seeing Liam’s excitement and bright smile are all proof to that!  Thanks again Ninang Penpen for helping us with the prep and for blogging it here too.. sa uulitin.. hihi.. Hugs! Mwah! 🙂

Liam’s 3rd Birthday Party Prep

I would say this is the most indecisive moment for me.  I have changed my mind over what we will do for Liam’s birthday for thousand times.  That’s how indecisive I was.  Wanting it to be perfect for him.  I changed from school party – to a party in an orphanage – to Jollibee party – to a party with the neighbors – back to Jollibee party – then to a party at the garage – Finally!! to an intimate out of town party! YEY!!

We have decided of this 2 weeks before the actual birthday! Ang galing lang no?!!? hehehe.. Anyway, what’s important is that the celebrant will have a blast on his day!  So final plan includes a tradition (not  done), out of town trip, cake blowing, presents and a DIY Ice cream or Pizza party (definitely ice cream, since Liam loves this).

Tradition:  Liam already is in the stage where he knows what Christmas is.  So I wanted to start the Christmas Tree tradition, where we will put up our Tree on his birthday. I’ve looked for a peg and canvassed already, but with all the craziness the earthquake has brought, we were not able to buy and put up one.  no worries, there will always be next year.  Though, am still planning for us to put up some decors (this will be a project after we get back from our Manila trip)

I wanted a simple tree with simple ornaments lang. Important is that top decor is a star. :)
I wanted a simple tree with simple ornaments lang. Important is that top decor is a star. 🙂

Out of Town Trip;  We initially agreed to book in Best Western Sandbar here in Mactan, but unfortunately they are fully booked.  Am so glad I’ve had a chat with one of my friends here in Cebu and she mentioned “Gaite Ranch” to me in Toledo. Luckily, they are open and have available rooms.  I checked with them after the calamity, they are doing good, so on we went.

Cake Blowing:  Usually, I would have a cake ready in the morning, but this year, am really super disorganized I was not able to buy even a small cake for the morning.  But, I was able to order a cake for Liam’s out of town party naman. So ok pa din. 🙂  By the way, this is what he wished for his birthday – A Birthday Cake!  Sana every year yan lang request nya.. hehehe

For the cake, I wanted a Bug themed cake just because our not so little boy is into bugs and insects nowadays. So I printed out these pics for his cake.

BUGS 3

Presents:  I just wanted Liam to open presents, kahit pa mumurahin lang na items inside. So I bought some toys and wrap them individually.  And I knew my SIL bought Liam books as presents already and for sure my MIL and FIL  have something for our boy too.

Ice Cream Party:  This one, I will let Leah of The Bright Spot, share with you guys what we did.  Yes, she will be my guest blogger here. Excited much!  She hosted an ice cream party for her friend’s family last August and I was so inggit.  We are both sure that Liam will super like this, so we decided to do it for him.  Well, what is a party without invitations diba?!?!  I tasked Liam to prepare the invitations for his guests.

Liam personally gave these invits to his guest – Lolo, Lolo and Ninang Penpen.  We weren’t able to take pics as we are in the office when he guest arrive our home.   He immediately asked Donna to get the invits so he can give it to them.  kakatuwa.

Can’t wait for Leah’s post. Stay tuned guys! 🙂

Happy 34th Birthday! (Late post)

To the man who always got my back.  To the one who stood by me through my worst.  To you who always brings out the best in me.

Happy 34th Birthday Bobe! Thank you so much for always being there and for pushing me to do my best. You’ve gotten my back even before, I wouldn’t have made it on my own if not for your support (all aspects, yes. hehehe).  Thank you for taking time to play with Liam (kahit nag 2Fuse lang ako sa iPhone ko).

We love you very much! 🙂  I hope you had a blast! 🙂

Ninang Tita

This post is especially dedicated to Liam’s Ninang Tita, Leah.  It was her birthday yesterday and thought of this for her here. Since it was because of her this blog even exists. 🙂

Ate Pen,

From my family, happy happy___th birthday!  We would like to thank you for always being there for us.

Thank you for being a very supportive sister to Dino.  You two may not be the showy types.  People may not know this, but I know how you 2 love and respect each other.  How proud you are of each other’s achievements.  Masungit nga lang talaga ‘tong isa.. hehehe

Takot ka pa nun kargahin sya.. heheheh :)

Thank you for being a kind and thoughtful SIL to me.  You were always warm with me and never failed to make me feel welcome ever since Dino introduced me to you.  We may not have the same interests but I don’t know how we do it, we still get along and have lots of things to talk about (baka sadyang madaldal lang tayo, hahahaha).  Thank you for always encouraging me with the things I do, lalo na for this blog.   We may not really be related by blood, but in my heart, you are a true sister to me.

Bad mood Liam, but not too bad for Ninang Tita.. :)

Thank you for being the best Ninang Tita Liam could ever had.  You loving Liam would be an understatement. I still remember when you first visited Liam last 201o.  It still brings tears to my eye remembering when you told me that it’s because of Liam that you understood the meaning of “Lukso ng Dugo”.  If there is one more right decision I made for Liam, it’s making you his 2nd mother.

I remember you carrying him for less than a minute that time.. hehehehe

We wish you more blessings and may the Lord grant all your heart’s desire.  Good health and continuous success to The Bright Spot!

We Love you much! 🙂

My favorite shot of you two.. panalo!

PS:  Actually, I plan to post a picture with each of us. Kaso low tech ang SIL mo at di marunong gumamit ng Mac ni Dino, so instead I used all of Liam’s pics with you (from my iPhone).. Hope you had a blast! 🙂

No Fuss Birthday Prep

Since we decided for a small party, preparation was an easy breezy.  Ang naging problem ko lang is ang theme, being the  fickle minded mommy that I am, hehehe.  At first, I want to have a Pororo themed party, kaso ang hirap mag hanap ng Pororo items here in Cebu.  So second option was Woody and Buzz.  But then again, we already had cowboy themed party during Liam’s first birthday. (Ang laki ng problema ko no!? e 7 kids lang naman sila) Then, a light bulb moment for mommy!! Why not a dalmatian themed party?  Liam looooves his dalmatian stuffed toy so much (I’ve blogged about Doggy here).  So ayun!!

Anyway, let me start with the invitation. As usual, this task was cordially accepted by Liam’s Ninang Tita, Leah of  The Bright Spot,  She is also the one who made Liam’s Cowboy invitattion when he turned 1.  This year, she made Dog Bone Invitations for Liam. She also blogged about it here.  Anyway, we loved the invitations.  Simple yet so into the theme and so cuuute!

Fun Bone Invitations! Thanks Ninang! :)

The Cake!  Whew, with only a week left and no cake ordered or confirmed, I tried my colleagues suggestion to order from Angelica’s Bakery (see contact details below).  Buti nalang they have a branch in BTC, so I went and checked if they have a dalmatian themed cake.  Unfortunately they don’t,  BUT!, buti nalang they can customize designs, just give them the artworks.  So I checked out the web for dalmatian photos, printed them out and VOILA!!! Liam’s Dalmatian Cake!  I was super happy with the outcome, kasi ang ganda at ang sarap ng cake nila!!

By the way, for the handa, we just cooked some hotdogs and put them on sticks with marshmallows, ordered Red Ribbon Spaghetti (that we learned that day lang na masarap pala! hehe), prepared some sandwiches and bought Zest-O juices for drinks! Simple but everyone enjoyed it!! 🙂

For the loots, we just bought some goodies, toys and some supplies and put them all in prepared paper bags!

to have the dalmatian feel, we included a Dalmatian squeeky toy inside.. isn’t he cute.. 🙂

Last but not the least, the highlight of the party.  We have hired a bubble show from my friend’s supplier. To my dismay, they forgot to bring the big loop where kids can be inside the big bubble. Hay naku!! na-stress ako dahil dun, kasi naman, I specifically requested for that ‘tas sabihin nila na di nadala!! Aside from this, they were so unprofessional to talk to.  Ang gulo gulo ng mundo nila!! Iba iba ang time na alam nila.  Di naman iba iba ang sinabi kong time! wah!!

In fairness, the kids enjoy this a lot!  Pero dahil nastress ako ng dahil sa kanila, I won’t share their contact. Actually, I did not keep their details.  Sa inis ko, binura ko after I paid.  hehehe..

Oh diba! Fun and easy. Oh well, this year one of my targets is to bring Liam out of the country na, if not his 3rd birthday, sa Christmas Vacation. Si MIL ang kakampi ko dyan! hehehehe.

Liam’s School Birthday Party

Making up for the blog lag…

Initially, I really planned to have a Shakey’s party in Manila but decided against it when I thought of all the preparation and calls I have to make.  Dino and I then decided to go out of town with Liam instead.   But this mom can’t bare the thought of not giving his son a party (show off ako e.. hehe) So, instead of going back to Manila and knowing na imposible naman makapag out of town, I decided to have an intimate birthday party in his school with only 6 classmates and 3 teachers.  Easier diba!??  Anyways, our Manila friends have already seen and celebrated with Liam naman na when he turned 1.  So Cebu naman kame this time. 🙂
